The Russian marathon runner finished the marathon run in just 2 hours 29 minutes and 18 seconds. She was followed 40 seconds later by the Latvian, Jelena Prokopcuka. Madai Perez of Mexico finished third place. The Perez crossed the finish line after 2 hours 30 minutes and 16 seconds from the start of the marathon run. The defending champion, Rita Jeptoo of Kenya wasn’t fortunate enough to repeat the same feat she did last 2006. She finished fourth place in just 2 hours 33 minutes and 8 seconds. Deena Kastor of the United States was fifth place with an official time of 2 hours 35 minutes and 9 seconds of the marathon run.

The 2007 Boston Marathon results for the “Men’s Division” was quite intense. However, the first four places were manipulated by marathon runners of Kenya. Robert Cheruiyot finished first place, having an official time of 2 hours 14 minutes and 13 seconds. Cheruiyot is currently the only marathon runner to have won the marathon events of Chicago and Boston in the same year. James Kwambai finished 30 seconds after Cheruiyot. His official second place time was 2 hours 14 minutes and 33 seconds. 14 seconds later, Stephen Kiogora finished third place with an official time of 2 hours 14 minutes and 47 seconds. James Koskei finished fourth in just 2 hours 15 minutes and 5 seconds. Of the first five placers of the Boston Marathon results of 2007, Teferi Wodajo was the only participant who is not from the country Kenya. Wodajo finished fifth with an official time of 2 hours 15 minutes and 6 seconds, a mere second away from Koskei.

Boston Marathon event are governed and organized by a non profit organization called “Boston Athletic Association”. The said organization is considered as one of the oldest sport organizations in the country and was founded on 1887.
